The Team

Tracy M. Bollers, Founder and Director of Cruising Kids

Hello! My name is Tracy, and I am a certified school building leader with over fifteen years of experience teaching grades K-12. My expertise lies in the area of special education and Literacy/English Language Arts. I earned a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, a Master’s of Education in Teaching Urban Adolescents with Disabilities from Long Island University, a Master’s of Divinity and Theology from Nyack College and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration from The College of Saint Rose. When I am not teaching, leading, or tutoring, I can be found spending time with my family, reading non-fiction texts, and listening to inspirational music. My passion for teaching is rooted in the belief that literacy is the anchor for academic success. Literacy empowers our young people and grants access and opportunity to all people, regardless of socio-economic disadvantages. My work as an educator has allowed me to witness the impeccable and tangible results of personalized and individualized literacy instruction for struggling students. Through a strategic and consistent approach to reading improvement, our students can build literacy skills that boost their reading performance two to three grade levels throughout one school year. Academic excellence is our destination, so get ready to sail with us towards success!

Gia N. Wills, Literacy Tutor

Hello! My name is Gia, and I am a Special Education teacher currently working on obtaining my Master’s in Education. I love family, travel, reading, writing, and dancing! My passion for teaching and learning grew out of my love for literacy. I believe that children need teachers who are patient and understanding, as it is through patience and understanding that teachers gain the opportunity to see the whole child. As a teacher, I am patient, flexible, and detail-oriented, and these qualities allow me to help my students succeed in all their academic and behavioral endeavors.

Brittany Gittens, Digital Literacy Coach

Hello! My name is Brittany, and I received my Master’s degree in Social Studies Education from Lehman College. I enjoy traveling, shopping, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. I am empathetic, enthusiastic, a great listener, and I am passionate about helping young scholars reach their potential. As a coach, I support and mentor my students in all aspects of academics to achieve success. Although the remote learning setting has its challenges, I believe that with community and partnership, all students can be successful.
